どんな野菜？
砂村一本ねぎは、天正年間（1573～1592年）に摂津（大阪）から砂村（江東区北砂・南砂）や品川などに持ち込まれました。摂津ではねぎの葉の方を食べる習慣がありましたが、当時の砂村は摂津より寒いためか定植しても葉が枯れてしまうことがあり、それではもったいないと土の中にある軸の白い部分を食べたら非常においしく、以後三寸ほどのネギの白い部分を食べる様になった、という逸話が残されています。
